Happy Valentine!
Oh, wait, I’m not here to share any chocolates. I’m here to share about…
The Hostel Game!!
Waking up on 5 AM was not a very big deal, after all. I had to do so because we, the 00T, the 00T, the 00T-T-T-T! had to rehearse our cheer before the real event. And we managed to perfect it just in time. Our mascot was also ready to go for action.
What I remember most about today is the mascots:
1. Joker — Joel became the Joker (with white face), and all boys used lipsticks to create bloody effect (just like Joker!)
2. Fuzzy Wuzzy — I forgot but I thought it was Markus — and I only remembered about the claws
3. Shrek — Freddy became the Shrek, Stanley became Pinocchio, David, KH, and another guy (I forgot who) became the 3 Blind Mice.
4. 00T — Cumi became the gun!
5. I-Cha-Mander — Jason became Charmander (imagine!!!) and Wen Shun became a girl trainer (he really suited it!)
6. Garda — Imelda became Garfield — and I thought it was the source of their name
7. The Pink Patrix — Adi became the Patrick Star
8. Cicakman — Eja became the Cicakman
9. Yesman — Willey became the Hero (dressed like Superman, but with Y instead of S)
10. The Cullens — Henri became Edward Cullen (he really suited it!)
After having breakfast, we go for the big event.
First event: Cheering Competition
Everyone sure got nice cheers. I dared not to say who was the best. Following this was…
Second event: Captain’s Ball Competition
Which I regarded as our worst performance. Yeah.
Our first opponent was Joker. I knew that we wouldn’t stand a chance against them: they’ve got NH, Hansel, and Michael S (who were experts in this game) with them. We were beaten up 18-5. Oh, well.
Next is The Cullens. I expected that this would be easier, but we still lost. Tio and Alvin were great players, while Marius and Hans were also great. Henri was also an awesome blocker. We lost 15-7.
And then… Cicakman. Our heaviest obstacle was their blocker, Victor. He was a big deal. A blocker-attacker. While the others were doing greatm too. We lost 15-8.
Alright, we have lost 3 out of 4 matches. We must win the next!
But, what happened?
Our last opponent was Garda. Thea, KC and a JC scholar (I didn’t know his name) were a deal. Their blocker was also a deal (Kerwin). We lost 17-8. Oh, even worse.
So, we were dropped down to the bottom 2.
Our next match would be our determination, whether we got 9th or 10th position. We told ourselves that we must struggle for this last, or else we would get the last!
And everything became turned around. Why?
We won 17-2.
(wew… why didn’t we play like this from the beginning?)
So this was the end of the Captain’s Ball game. Congratulations for Joker, who got the first position!
News from the Cheering Competition: we got the second position. Wow! Great achievement. The first position… was also Joker. Congratulations!
All of us took a rest for the rest of the day until 6 PM, which was our next event.
Third event: Nightstalk
After dinner, we gathered in the lounge for the last event of this day: Nightstalk.
So, in this game, we were about to catch as many committees as we could while getting stickers (which worthed some points) from them, but with some trials from them. The main thing was, actually, we had to guess their nickname from the drop-down list given to us and the meaning behind it (so, in sum, 2 stickers). But some of them would give some extra trials.
So?
Game time!
The first committee we tracked was Stacey. We managed to get 1 sticker from him as we could guess his nickname and the meaning, but couldn’t guess what his Facebook picture was (…this was the extra trial from him).
Okay…
I remembered that the second committee we caught was Charmaine. Actually I’ve caught her before with Michael, but as 00T couldn’t gather within 10 seconds, she became immune to us for some time.
Heck.
But, as fate would have it, we approached her again. This time, we were managed to gather. And we got 2 stickers from her.
The third committee we caught was Nga. She gave us another trial, but we passed it well, as well as we guessed her nickname. Another 2 stickers for us.
And the fourth? The most credible one. Mr. Teja Bond! Needless to say, we got 2 stickers from him. His trial was a very easy one.
Our last was… the most hideous one (as she hid behind a tree): Linh. Luckily we passed her trial and got another 2.
Time over, and we got 9 stickers. Quite a nice achievement. The most sticker achieved was 10, by I-Cha-mander and one or two other group (I forgot — both the number of the group and the group(s)’s name(s)).
After being treated to muffins and orange juice, we all went to sleep and get ready for the biggest part of the game.
